Warranties are very subjective. Basically, the dealer has to PROVE that the chip or software download caused the problem in question (reason the car is in the dealer). For example, if you radio stops working, the dealer CANNOT blame the software upgrade as the cause. Now if there is a fuel injection problem or 02 sensor problem, they may have an issue. I have had 4 different chips in my 95 M3 and haven't had a problem, nor do I see one arising. Dinan's warranty is not as clear cut as they make it out to be. Must be dealer installed and dealer maintained. No matter what they say...

Just go for it, either way, and don't worry about the warranty issue.

Sean: : JB,
: : Try the Conforti Flash Reprogramming. It is by far the better software for the OBD-I (95 and older) and OBD-II cars.

: : : Newer M3 owner-last year was fun-looking for more-Can anyone give me the run down on available chips and gains in horsepower-Is Dinan the way to go? What else are my options?

: Sean-Mine is a '96-What effect does the Conforti have on warranty-I hear that witht he Dinan the warratny stays in tact?
