: I just called Dinan to get an estimate on the brake work

: Front: Pads only - $275
: Pads and rotors - $543

: Rear: Pads only - $250
: Pads and Rotors - $310

: i'm guessing that I'll needs new pads and rotors for all four corners ($853). Is it just me or is that insanely expensive? I know Dinan will do a good job, but do you guys think it's worth it? Any suggestions on other shops?

Are these prices for stock replacement parts, or for Dinan engineered upgrades? If the front pads cost $100, and they charge $85 per hour like many of the BMW dealers around here do (NY Metro), and they charge you 2 hrs for both fronts in total, then thats how they might derive it... Personally, sure, it seems high..Especially when you consider how easy brake replacement work is to DIY. But most places tend to charge alot for brake work in general....I think they figure that most drivers feel brakes are very important, so they charge accordingly based on the fear factor. Do it yourself, learn something, have some fun, and save big bucks!
