As a former semi-professional drag racer it is great to see someone taking am M3 to the strip.
Great times BTW
A few notes: You are going to be pleasantly surprised how much slicks/race tires help your times. Just remember to try and find a tire wheel combo that doesn't hurt your rear gear ratio. As I'm sure you know, the lower(higher number) the better. Also keep an eye on your driveline parts as sticky tire starts are going to be very hard on them. But hey that is Drag racing, running fast breaks things. Congrats!
: every time ive gone, i have hit a new plateau. tonight i wasnt expecting to better my 12.572 at 115.23 from last tuesday night for several reasons:
: the temp was higher today, dew was falling early providing high moisture in air plus can make track more slippery, and there was a 10-15mph headwind right down the track.
: now for the good news, i ran 12 passes in the 12's and the fastest was my new record:
: 12.486 at 115.23(my car likes 115.23mph i guess). i smoked several unsuspecting muscle cars. i made it to the finals in the bracket racing and even ran my dial in, 12.80, but i got beat on the tree. the other driver cut a .540 light! needless to say, i didn't.
: i hit the brakes at the finish to keep from breaking out, but with his almost perfect light and my .7 light, it didnt matter. he was .15 off his dial in, but the reaction time made up the difference.
: there was a red viper gts on nitrous and slicks running 10.7.
: one of the tech guys from spec r tuning that did my dyno pull was at the track and he took a ride with me, we ran a 12.8 with him in the car. he asked why my car ran quicker than last week and i would have to give credit to the redline synthetic mtl i put in saturday. i can hit every gear now without letting off the throttle. before i always had to let off on my 2nd to 3rd shift. the redline is smooth!!! the best $16 upgrade you can make!
: see ya'll at the track
