Since you car isn't that old and hasn't really had a chance to fade, repainting the door should be no big deal and will probably give you the best results. Make sure they take stuff off of it, not just mask around, and that they use BMW-recommended paint.

: I have a couple 2-inch long semi-deep scratches right near my driver door handle from a break-in. My Insurance Co. has covered me for a total door repaint and blend if needed. However, I don't like the idea of repainting the door of a 6 month old 99' Silver M3. My Dealer Bodyshop guy has filled, buffed, and polished these so I can check it out tomorrow. Obviously, if it looks bad I'll repaint, but I'm interested in hearing some opinions...Will repainting hurt resale value more than a couple fixed up scratches? Being a silver car, I'm hoping the scratches are covered up enough so I can get my M back on the road where she belongs.
