I talked to a local Stereo Shop (San Jose, CA) and they didn't like the JL Stealth system because you had to remove two speakers. They made a new suggestion: cut one or two holes in that rear panel that holds the two rear speakers and drop in one or two JL IB4s (Infinite Baffle subs). This way, you get to keep the speakers and still get bass directly fired into the cabin.

I saw pics of the install in a Red M3 and it look very nice (amp was mounted on the underside of the panel). My only concern is that if this compromises the rigidity of the M3's chassis. It probably doesn't but, I'm sure it could be fixed with a Dinan rear stress bar across the shock towers.
