i just pushed down on the trailing arm with one hand and pulled out the spring w/ the other. I've seen it where two people do it--one pushes down on the trailing arm and the other pulls the spring...just don't break your half shafts...

: Well, all was going well yesterday, my buddy and I got the whole suspension on my 1995 M3 switched from stock to Dinan Stage III, except for one thing...THE REAR SPRINGS. How do you get those things out without removing the rear half shafts? We tried two different spring compressors. Both of them would not adjust down to a short enough length. Any special sources for spring compressors in the San Francisco Bay Area? I am guessing I need to use something that looks like a big pair of tongs.
