My 47K '96 M3 uses less then 1 quart between oil changes (3500 miles) of 15-50 Mobil 1. My friend's '97 drinks oil like it's gas but he runs Mobil 1 0-30. So apparently oil weight makes a big difference. I switched to synth at 10K.
