: Tommy or MegaM3,

: I also go run at DeSoto, I go on Tuesday though. I don't go on Fridays because I usually go out that day. I have met you Tommy and was impressed with your car. I have a '99 silver M3 with A Dinan Stage II chip, Dinan cold air intake, and a Remus exhaust. I don't know if I can get a 13.4, but I'm sure Im in the 13's. One of my best friends has a bone-stock (except for Intrax springs)'88 Mustang 5.0 coupe, and he runs 14.2 every single time he races down at Desoto, my car is much faster than his, we have raced over 1000 times on the street. I also raced my buddy at work in his '2000 Z28 and beat him fairly bad. I keep hearing the newer M3's are not as fast but I don't think that is true. I think the newer M3's require a different kind of tuning, that does not make them slower. The older M3's benefit from turbocharging, whereas the newer ones benefit from supercharging (OBD restrictions), so on and so forth. Bottom line, I have not been racing at Desoto, I mainly watch because I feel I would miss all the action if I raced, I love watching the show. I do want to race Mega M3, not this Friday but next Friday at Desoto. Then we will really see if the older M3's are faster or not (with similar tuning), I would like to really find out and have the facts. Does Mega M3 have 18's in his car? I have 18's so it would be more on par if we both did, but it doesn't matter to me.

: So, Desoto on the 18th at 7pm? Let me know, I'll be ready.

I was out at DeSoto for my first time last friday and I must tell you, experience (or more to the point, lack thereof) counts for more than I imagined. I have an AA II+ Turbo kit (with a Borla 2 3/4'' exhaust)and I ran in the 13s until my very last run where I got into the 12s by my short hairs. This was with 13-14 psi. Now a large part of my problem is finding a launch speed that would not bog me (2500RPM or below) or one that would not spin my tires in 1st and 2nd gears (2800 and above.) Lastly, I was amazed to see the time differences were a lot less than I thought based on the amount of distance between cars. I beat a Callaway Vette by about 3 car lengths at the trap. When we compared slips, I had beaten him by about .3 sec only(@118mph, 1 sec is about 175'). I don't think 13s are impossible for you but please note that my first run with about 460HP was 13.75sec.(and I beat a 97 Cobra by MANY car lengths.) I'm looking forward to being there on the 18th as well-hope to see you there.
