Well, I've got the Dinan CAI with DINAN stage 2 software. I own a '99 and Dinan was really my only choice as I knew my Dealer would support the product warranty wise. As far as bottom end power. I really can't say it was huge. The places I REALLY felt the difference where towards the end of 2nd gear and in 3rd gear 4K rpm and on. I haven't maxed out 4th or tried top speed yet. I DID go head to head with a hopped up HONDA out of a toll booth one day and remember getting to 120mph REALLY fast. But It's not something I do regularly so It's tough to compare.

One area I REALLY noticed an improvment was performance with a passanger. When I drive with a passanger my acceleration was noticably worse. With the CAI it's tough to notice the extra weight.

As far as cleaning I would go with what Paul said. Not the EASIEST in the market to get at but NOT difficult either.

: Definitely NOT looking to start yet ANOTHER debate. JUST looking for info...

: I spoke with a Dinan rep this and I'm considering going with their CAI/software combo. The biggest reason for this decision would be ease of installation (an easy 20 minute drive) and the fact that, when my dealer opens my hood for service, they're less likely to give me hell about mods if they see "Dinan" in there (my dealer seems partial to the Dinan stuff). PLUS, I really don't like the idea of shipping my ECU anywhere... no matter how well it's packed.

: 1) I realize the Dinan is supposed to be more noticeable in the top end but is there a perceptable difference in the low/midrange level (read butt dyno).
: 2) The filter "looks" like it would be really hard to get to. Is it fairly simple to clean?
: 3) Lastly, what are your overall impressions? (i.e. power increase, intake sound, etc.) and do you feel it was money well spent? Any disadvantages/drawbacks?

: Thank you very, very much,
: Jonathan L.
