When can e36 owners expect the Hella retrofit kit?
How much is it expected to cost?
: : I do not want to rain on Brian's parade here, but this is a complete waste of money, unless it is for appearance reasons only.
: : We just returned from SEMA (Specialty Equipment Marketing Association - the Automotive Aftermarket Trade Show) and know all about HID retrofits for the e39 and Phoenix's kits.
: : Phoenix Microlite is supplied with Phillups ballasts and bulbs. These are of great quality. However, the use of these bulbs without proper refraction - lenses, will not yeild in greater light performance, and will in most cases have a negative impact.
: : We are working with Hella here in the US, Hella AG and an indepedent German supplier to bring the OFFICIAL HELLA RETROFIT KIT to the USA.
: : This kit is dirrect bolt in replacement with all the necessary hardware. We are only held up now to ensure that there will be no software issues. Hella has been testing these sets in the US and has had no problems. However, we may need to supply a different control module form BMW AG.
: : Stay tune folks. This will be THE way to go. As you know, I have been here for a long time, and only sell and support the best solutions. As a tuner and an e39 owner/enthusiast, you can rest assured I am eager to rectify this problem.
