: Hi --
: I'm new to the list & M3's so any information on the following question would be greatly appreciated. I just recently purchased a 1995 M3 with only 45K miles on it. The car looks flawless & is really clean. However, I notice a slight vibration in 2nd gear, between 2000 - 3000 RPM's. Again this is only in 2nd gear & the vibration seems to go away after 3000 RPM. Also, at idle there's slight missing going on. What could be causing this? Are these signs of a possible Over-Rev by the previous owner? Or a bent valve? Not sure.... Besides the above problems, the car seems to run fine & very smooth. Any info would be helpful.

: Thanks

I had a similar symptom on my 95. My problem was worn spark plugs. Manual says they need changing every 30K. I installed those new Bosche 4 electrode platnium plugs ....they smoothed my motor right out.
Could have stale gas too. You'd know it if you had any over-rev damage.
Remote chance that your driveshaft is either not balanced right or has too much play somehow.

Hope this helps
