: problem with my 97. It was the result of a broken fan blade. One of the blades had broken off (long story, but basically due to the installation of an ERT Supercharger KIT) and it caused a vibration that was exactly like a miss. I took the fan off, engine ran smooth as silk. Put the fan back on, engine ran like it was missing. I could not believe it. I too thought there was a more serious problem.

Hi --
: I'm new to the list & M3's so any information on the following question would be greatly appreciated. I just recently purchased a 1995 M3 with only 45K miles on it. The car looks flawless & is really clean. However, I notice a slight vibration in 2nd gear, between 2000 - 3000 RPM's. Again this is only in 2nd gear & the vibration seems to go away after 3000 RPM. Also, at idle there's slight missing going on. What could be causing this? Are these signs of a possible Over-Rev by the previous owner? Or a bent valve? Not sure.... Besides the above problems, the car seems to run fine & very smooth. Any info would be helpful.

: Thanks
