Whoops, Let's try that again...

SCBMW:
I've bought 4 cars from SCBMW, I didn't necessarily plan in that way, but that's how things have come out. Getting an appointment to get work done there is a major pain in the butt. 4 to 6 weeks away is what I expect when calling them. On a few occasions, I've got service advisors on the phone who made me feel like their 4 to 6 week lead time was my fault. Generally they're friendly.

In a few situations, I've been impressed by their acutal mechanics troubleshooting capabilities, including a wierd short in my '91 318is in the electric mirrors that happened only when the windows were rolled all the way down.

In summary I'd say they have competent mechanics, but their staff is always busier then they should be. If you want to get your car serviced in April, go for them.

Allison:
I'd categorize Allison as a smaller, more friendly dealership, but also with less expert mechanics. I've gone there several times out of frustration in dealing with SCBMW. They're a lot easier to deal with, but given non-standard issues (rear sway bar keeping popping off on our M Roadster) they don't know what they're doing. For this issue, they just stuck it back in and shrugged when I told them there was still a problem. SCBMW replaced the entire thing right away, and it's never had any problem since.

So, overall, I'd say if you get good vibes from Claridges, and they have a nearby appointment, go with them. Allison's proabably fine for that, too. If you have a strange problem, take it to SCBMW, though they are a pain sometimes, I trust them more.

: I'll be having Inspection I soon...

: from reading some of your comments/posts here about BMW Service Department, I am really worried to bring my car to a bad Dealer.. I'm afraid my car ended up having more problems than before I put in there..

: Gosh.. maybe I should sell my car and get a Lexus or Mercedes or HoNDA!

: Anyway... I'm thinking of going to Steven Creeks or Claridge for my Inspection I...

: from your experience, which one would you recommend me ??? Please let us know...
