Sometimes, it is not a waste to use lawyers. I don't know whether your conviction was a felony or misdemeanor. However, there is something called "three strikes and you are out" in a lot of states. Your previous convictions even if suspended count if you ever end up doing anything major. E.g. two previous felony driving convictions can lead you to a life sentence for later carrying an unlicensed gun even if you did not do anything with the gun.
You might still want to appeal the conviction if you have good grounds.
: Talked to a few lawyers. They said they can gaurentee I wouldn't have to go to jai. For $250 PER HOUR IT SEEMED LIKE A WASTE OF MONEY.
