Ok ladies and gentlemen, here is your OFFICIAL INVITATION for the 1st ever (since the beginning of mankind) BMW DRIVE!! The details are as follows:

Date: Sunday, 13 February 2000

Time: 0800 Ft. Lauderdale Area
0900 West Palm Area

Meeting Place: Ft. Lauderdale Area: Champs Restaurant/Movie Theater on Andrews Ave
Directions: Take I-95 to Cyprus Creek exit WEST. Turn RIGHT or NORTH on Andrews Ave at (what I believe is the first light?) Less than one mile on the RIGHT will be a large parking lot for Champs and the movie theater. **NOTE** Ft. Lauderdale area gang will meet up with West Palm area gang on Okeechobee Blvd (see below for directions).

West Palm Area: Shells Restaurant/Movie Theater on Okeechobee Blvd
Directions: Take I-95 to Okeechobee exit WEST. Immediately after the construction (less than 2/10 mile from I-95) is the parking lot on the RIGHT.

Destination: North of Palm Beach area

Object: To enjoy our Ultimate Driving Machines amongst other BimmerHeads (kind of like DeadHeads, only crazier!)

Itinerary: 0800 southern folks meet in Ft. Lauderdale area.
0830, Ft. Lauderdale folks will head North on I-95 to meet up with West Palm area folks.
0930 we will possibly swing by Braman BMW to show-off and then make our way North on I-95 for about 25 miles to Palm City. At this time, we will exit and take 714 (Martin Hwy) North through canopy covered road (very scenic) to 710. We will then take 710 Northwest towards the city of Okeechobee to SR 70. At this point we will convene to decide (depending on weather, time, hunger, etc.) if we want to head further North up 441 to SR 60 at Yeehaw Junction and then East to Vero Beach and then South on scenic A1A -OR- just take SR 70 East towards Ft. Pierce and over to Hutchinson Island where we'd pick-up A1A for the scenic drive South through Jensen Beach, Stuart, Hobe Sound, and Jupiter Island. We may want to stop on Hutchinson Island at one of the many beach park accesses to drool over our cars, stretch our legs, check out the water, etc. The final meeting place will be Jupiter Lighthouse, where we will disperse.

Lunch: BBQ/Grilling out at the beach will take too much coordinating and will cramp our freedom of time; therefore, we can orchestrate that for next time. I think hitting a restaurant would be the easiest for lunch this go-around. We will eat depending on the hunger quotient. We will eat at whatever restaurant is convenient to our present location and is generally satisfactory to all indulgees. We don't need anything set in stone here. Depending on how many cars we have, the lunch scene may prove to be quite interesting and/or amusing when we all show up at any one restaurant!! I suggest bringing a small cooler with some snacks and beverages to keep the hunger at bay in case the lunch time isn't exactly when each and every one of us is ready for it. On a personal note, although I NEVER permit foreign substances into my BMW (such as FOOD) but I might just make a one time exception due to these special circumstances!

Misc: Here are a few more items of interest and a chance to answer a few questions that I was asked:
>>> Feel free to bring family, friends, pets, inmates, illegal aliens, extraterrestrial aliens, etc.
>>> I will bring maps for everybody which outlines the general route.
>>> Don't forget:
*** Money/gas/credit card
*** Camera (digital?)
*** Snacks
*** Foul weather gear? (umbrella, jacket)
*** Good driving music/CD's
>>> Please come with a FULL TANK of gas so that we don't need to stop 20 times!
>>> I am expecting at least 10 BMW's to join in the madness, but judging from the responses, we should have about 20-30 BMW's. Once again, hopefully I won't be driving around by myself - although I'd still have fun! Even if you can't make it for the whole day, you can peel off early and head back to whatever it is that could be more important than a BMW drive.

I look forward to a fun-filled day of driving my UDM and I hope that each and everyone of you will be able to join in! Please feel free to email me back with any constructive criticism. RSVP's are requested. Thanks everybody!
