I have the same setup on my non-M3 325i.
I doubt if you gained much from the throttle body because where that's a considerable bottleneck for many systems, the E36 cars are the exception.
25hp from a chip and intake on an OBDII car is questionable to me, but Dinan is a reputeable company and takes the time to accureately measure their products performance.
As mentioned by others, the sound is appropriate.
Once you add a free flow exhaust, the sound will become more balanced (from the front and rear).
