You mentioned having a supercharged car, if your friend doesn't have a supercharger you're not comparing apples to apples. The intake (which on your SC car is open) will have quite an effect on the exhaust note. They're seperate systems but related and often intake rumble is mistaken for exhaust rumble. I have the Dinan CAI and when used with the stock exhaust, many people would ask what type of exhaust I had.
As for the quality and price, look at the welds on your friend's AA exhaust (around $650) then look at the welds on the Dinan exhaust ($1,000).
The Dinan welds look like they were done by someone in training. They're not clean or consistent. Not that cosmetics are important, but often an indicator of quality control.
