I too have a 99 m3 coupe, black/black, with standard two spoke m rims, sunroof, premium sound, and thats it. Waited 4 months. My first bmw, nothing down, paid about 2.5k in taxes, tags, lux, tax, and 500 deposit on top, 3 year, 15kmiles/year, got $549/month. took 20 minutes to negotiate and order. DC metro area can be a nice place. Did get some corporate rate, ask them what companies they have agreements with, its around 500-. OH yeah, my negotiated price was 38,200. so negotiate a purchase price, and when financing comes up, tell em you want a lease. residual end of 3 years is around 28k,

my second best deal was $660 + 2k down in addition to everything else. no wonder i took the m3 over the boxster and clk430, made a fabulous choice. 19k miles in 10 months, with it being in the shop this year, because of a new years wreck in the mountain, my poor m3. dont know what that will do to my residual.

Good luck negotiating.
