The microfilter is a cabin filter that is located upstream from your heater/ac/vent ducting. it filters all of the air coming into the cabin. it is a pain to replace, but neglect will result in restricted heater, a/c, vent air flow, and possibly a bad odor if it mildews. refer to the bentley manual for detailed instructions. the first time through will frustrate a saint. look closely at the two screws removed behind the small plastic screw covers located just above the glove box door. they are made to retain the covers. if you don't put them back in the correct place you can't get the small plastic covers to stay on. regards good luck
