: : I have a 1995 M3 and I am wondering what (if anything) would happen if I moved the OEM mass air sensors and HFM further away from the throttle body?
: : : I have a dinan intake and would like to connect the OEM HFM directly to the cone(air filter) then have the DINAN carbon fiber tube from the HFM and connect to the other side to the existing OEM bent rubber tube that connects to the thottle body... Can anyone give me any info on how this would affect the car?
: I already have a Conforti chip. I am asking this odd question because I was hoping someone could give me some useful info. Like exactly why it would or would not work and exactly what would occur. I am asking because it will affect the upgrade I am in the process of doing. ************************************************* I would like to know if I moved the HFM further from the thottle body what would happen. the distance would move the HFM about ten inches to 12" from the throttle body. Any helpful response would be good.
: Thank you ALL!!!!!!
:Shawn, sounds good. So, the Carbon tube helps make the air "less Turbulent and more even"? The reason why I ask is cause if I used a BMP or AA or Jim C. intake the HFM is only about 2 two four inches from the cone. How would this affect it? It must not cuz these guys all believe that only more air and decreased temp. is the benifit. Since the Dinan only moves the cone down to decrease temp. (I guess that is the only practical reason) the tube is only an extended tube to meet the distance. not decrease turbulence or even air flow....Correct? I am not, giving you a hard time just trying to get some info, I understand your statment just based on what other TUNERS do, it doesn't make sense. What do you think?
Thanks SHAWN...Please reply! Aaron.
