it will show on your record...just take it to court and plea bargin with the prosecutor. He'll offer to drop the points and you'll pay a larger fine...it's a very easy and smooth process.
If you're still concerned, call your insurance company and ask them about it (dont tell them your name of course). Some insurance companies do nothing unless you've had a certain number of moving violations within a certain time frame. Also, sometimes your record will not be checked by your insurance company for a number of years...unless of course you've had an accident, etc.
