In Reply to: Dinan Stage 1, 2, 3 What's the difference??? posted by Just trying to learn more..Thanks.nt on April 24, 2000 at 14:55:22:

First off you can visit and find out a bit there. To summarize

Stage 1-3 are documented in their catalog
Stage 1, Standard Software upgrade for additional 8-10 HP I think.
Stage 2, You need this when you purchase the Cold Air Intake system. With the Intake Stage 2 software Yields an additional 20 HP. Some people will argue Dinan's Claims to real world #'s but I felt a difference.

Stage 3 I haven't done myself but is used when You add the Bored out Throttle Body. I believe you also need to add the Euro HFM. With Stage 3 software and the Cold Air Intake, Euro HFM, Bored out Throttle Body and Exhaust Dinan Claims 38 additional Horsepower. I user recently posted some G-Tech findings that showed the claims of 38 horsepower with a stage 3 system are accurate.

I believe Dinan's HP #'s include their exhaust from stage 1 to 3. However I believe there was a user here who ONLY did Stage 2 with The CAI and no aftermarket exhaust and noticed the 20 HP increase. I have the Exhaust so I'm not speaking first hand on this one.

I'm not too Familiar with Stage 4 and 5. I do know Stage 5 incorporates the Schrick Intake. I'm not too sure what Stage 4 is all about (Part of me thinks its the software upgrade for Supercharge users with the bored out thottle Body but I could be completly WRONG on that one)
