I have a 95M3... Could I purchase the ECIS CAI and the JC chip? err, I mean, would they work together well? The JC CAI is too expensive!

: : The dinan service guy is trying to sell me that i have to run a stage 2 software with the intake bought only from them to prevent the check engine light form coming on during full throttle. *(Is this crap). Also the stage 3 with the throttle body and stage 4 with the mass air which i feel that is not the problem in hp gains. I thought the only restriction is the intake box since it's designed for a 2.5l not a 3.2l! Any opinions

: At Competition and Sports Cars Ltd, which was my Dinan participating BMW dealer in Greenwich Ct, I came in with my ECIS CAI already installed, and the proceeded to give me the Dinan Stage II Software download...What their docs tell them is that if the car has a Cold Air INtake, than the correct Download version for that car is the Stage II Download period...Does not say explicitly that this HAS to be a Dinan CAI. What they say this does is to provide a slightly richer high rpm fuel mix to go with the cAI, to prevent a 'lean' condition. YOu should tell them that you WANT the Stage II Download, and to stop fu--ing around! Now, I dont know whose intake you are using, but, unless its some unknown brand which they might become afraid of guaranteeing their performance with, you should not have a problem.
