Will somebody explain to me how Jim C. (or any other tuner) can configure two seperate performance software configurations; one for a stock M3 and another one for use with an aftermarket intake (regardless of brand)?

I just don't understand how this can be logically done with such a minor difference an aftermarket intake makes in the big picture.

The horsepower and torque gain using an aftermarket intake is so minimal compared to stock that I can't imagine Jim C. would be able to alter the fuel and/or ignition maps in the software to compensate for the small change. Especially since he would not have access to the car for him to tweak his software accordingly.

I wonder what these two comparisons would look like:

1- Jim C's standard performance software (with Jim C. Intake).

2- Jim C's special performance software (with Jim C. Intake).

Anyone have any thoughts?

: I also ordered the ECIS intake....and as you I have the same problem, however I will go with the regular JC software ( probably ) since it works too....since he doesn't sell the JC intake software unless you get his intake (it su..ks) .....why if you ask ? I talked several times to Sean at ECIS and he said that the regular JC software works perfectly with the ECIS intake....I don't know if that helps much ...and if you don't want to, you can always go with the Dinan stage II software...

: : Ok, I know this has been talked about a lot recently but I couldn't find a definative answer. Does anyone have the ECIS intake and the JimC INTAKE software?? I know JimC wont sell the intake software unless you have his intake, but $449.... damn....
