: My car is a 1996 M3 pushing 40k miles soon.... I think the rear shock mounts are probably gone, and I've noticed the car riding a little lower than the newer cars (ie my friends 99) especially in the rear. Also the ride isn't quite as good as it used to be... a little more spongy than a while ago. Could the shock mounts need changing? would it be a good idea anyway?

: Thanx in advance,

It's probably a good idea to change them anyway. The typical symptom is a rear clunk. It shouldn't affect ride height if they're gone.
