When you say that the engine "dumps fuel to "cool down the cat" are you saying that gas mileage will be significantly reduced? Is this a result of the computer "losing" the program and returning to default programming? : First off, anything anyone else is telling you about my "normal" software working fine with
: an intake is BS. The whole reason I developed
: the "intake software" is to deal with a self-
: protection function in the DME in your car.

: Now... what's different between the Intake
: and Normal versions.. JUST this function,
: which is modified to now work with the Intake.

: What happens..

: Actually it's simple.. your intake allows more
: air in that the stock one.. ANY intake does.

: Under certain circumstances (detailed below)
: the car will PASS above a threshold WITH an
: intake, that it would not have WITHOUT the
: intake. When it does this, the DME temporarily
: increases the fuel mixture (rich) anywhere from
: about 12% to 44%. This causes the car to bog
: and is usually detected by the DME as a "misfire"

: The conditions are:

: 1) High ambient air temp
: 2) High coolant temp
: 3) High air mass flow
: 4) Vehicle entering knock retard by some amount.

: When all these factors collide, if the air mass
: is just high enough and the God's are frowining,
: the DME enters Catalyst Protection and FWOOOSH.

: It dumps fuel to "cool down the cat"

: It all has to do with a catalyst temperature model
: inside the DME that never took into effect that
: someone might change the intake.
