the so-called race version is actually the european version of the exhaust. it has slightly bigger internal diameter which allows it to flow better at high rpms. it doesn't do anymore for a stock or slightly modded car than a regular US version would. if you went forced induction or heavily modded NA, it would be a different story. performance-wise, all a performance exhaust will do is make nice sounds while looking pretty and make a few hp every here and there. you do get better throttle response though! =) as for emissions, the exhaust won't do anything, as long as the cats stay on.
