Yes, the mesh can be replaced separately. The piece is actually a hard plastic part held in place by small aluminum "buttons" that are actually press fitted onto tiny plastic "fingers." The difficulty is trying to remove the press-fit buttons without damaging (actually breaking) the plastic fingers. Honestly, to do this job with any quality (and breaking the fingers) will require removal of the entire bumper. This is an easy DIY job. Hope this helps.
