I thought it prudent, as the car shows signs of being owned by someone who might have liked to push it: supersprint exhaust, zender spoiler, and the shift knob was re-glued, indicating he probably had a custom knob.

Those things don't necessarily indicate a hot rodder, but rather, they might indicate someone who wanted to at least play at it. Maybe he missed a couple of downshifts? Who know? The computer...

BTW, the mechanic advised that the computer does not flag accelerator-induced attempts at over revving.
