I pulled the spare from a '93 MR2 Turbo I had that was heavily modified running 15 psi of boost and about 340 hp. I wanted to save as much weight as possible so elected to go the "can" route. I never had to use it, thank goodness!

I was later told that if you use this stuff, it really makes a mess inside the tire (and wheel). I was also told that some tire shops will refuse to fix (patch) a tire that has been subjected to this stuff. I don't know if this is true or not.

: All,

: I was wondering if that fix a flat stuff really works. If so, would you depend on it enough to ditch your spare and only use the fix-a-flat.

: I have AAA, but i would always rather fix a flat myself.

: the only reason i was thinking this is b/c of the 50lbs that it would save. This might seem a bit weird to some of you, but for some there is no cure!

: Also, does this cause any problems with crumple zones etc.?
