I know straight pipes are illegal, you lose torque but you do gain horsepower due to less back pressure. About the DME, my computer is being reprogramed at this moment according to the specifications I gave them. I need more fuel because of having more air in the mixture. The guy that works on my car is the one that is doing me the straight pipe, he tunes a lot of M3's for summit point raceway and till now I have seen very good results and no problems at all. My car was bogging at 5k like I said before, and now it runs really good. The less restrictive the better isn't it? I want horsepower, not torque, check the formula one cars specifications (to torque, just horsepower). Yes there is a downside on less torque, you won't feel that push that the m3 has but it will be faster.
