I also think that much of the bashing that goes on is unwarranted. There are differences between products, but on average the quality is great across the board.
To the owner, cars are often seen as a projection of your self image. People get upset when they think someone else has a faster car or bigger ****. Hence they try to destroy the threat that makes them uncomfortable by disparaging it.
I would guess that the greater part of our enthusiast population would own parts that were purchased because of their price. This being so, they would attack anything that can possibly be perceived as better or more potent. Price is an easy thing to criticize.
another factor is that everyone likes to defend their decisions. have you ever met a guy who had just bought a mod, and said that he didn't like it?
The last factor is that everyone likes to think that they are the biggest "enthusiast". So they criticize the bigger names b/c they see them as robbing the newcomers to the game.
