I'm looking to sell my gs300 (98) for a 97 or 98 m3. I've noticed a lot of people on this board buy and sell and trade their cars frequently so I'm looking for any advice. The blue book wholesale is 33,500. I've been offered 30,000 cash (without buying another car at the dealership) which seems really low. Do you think I'd be able to get higher as a trade-in for a M3? How do most of you manage to trade cars every year or so? Would it be better financially to sell the car now, wait for cars to depreciate and then buy one 6 months or so later, or to trade the car in when I buy the m3. I know it sounds like a weird question. Basically, I like the idea of having the cash to buy a car without having to hassle with selling it privately and not having to trade it in. Makes me feel like I have more options. Am I crazy? Sorry for the long rambling post. I'm finding it difficult to accurately explain myself. no flames please. Thanks.
