at radio shack, for $19 or $24, they have an RV indoor/outdoor digital thermometer with a probe. it has a wire that lets you place the "outside" probe wherever you desire (inside air box, outside airbox) and you can see the temp differences. on my home made air box, the temp in the box is identical to the outside ambient air temp. (probe is same as OBC temp reading),
this lets me know the effectiveness of box. underhood temps are 40-80 degrees hotter than ambient. so the cold air box works!

: the JC intake system with heat shield? I know that ECIS has and there was a dramatic difference between the shielded side vs the unshielded side.
