In my personal experience, the H/K system is garbage. If you don't want to buy the guy's whole system, ask him to remove all of the components, but not the wiring. This way, for a reasonable amount of money you could put in your own amp, head unit, and speakers. If everything's already wired, this would be a fairly simple DIY install. If you don't go this route, I agree with Bob, though. It would be a major pain in the ass for this guy to revert to the stock system, so you definetly have some leverage in bargaining for the system.
