You are quite correct, I am in my 3rd year at the USAF Academy (and almost done with it thank God). I was enlisted for a few years before coming here, and I know that the UCMJ is not to be taken lightly. Plus, the SP's around here are really anal.

Legal issues aside, I've got a technical question. Let's say I take the cat off for track use, like an autocross up in Denver... since my car is OBDI, would my DME need to be altered to account for the missing cat? I am concerned about 2 things:

1) I might get check engine lights because the O2 sensor is gone, then screw up the fuel mixture and get detonation or something, and

2) I would not get an appreciable power gain by removing the cat because the DME should be optimized.

What are your thoughts on potential power gains from simply removing the cat vs. removing the cat AND reprogramming the DME? This is of course only for OBDI.
