I have no problem keeping the rpms low until the engine is warmed up properly. The reason I don't care for a large "spread" in the viscosity range is that there is more potential for breakdown from of the polymers, etc. used in the base oil (or chemical).Bob ///.M3
: The M5 has the governor to limit rpm's top range when the engine is cold. I think as long as you keep the rpm range low before the car warms up, a wide spread of oil viscosity should pose no problems.
