: That being said, I would find the lightest STOCK sized wheels available. Stock size, because the SCCA and other sanctioning bodies require stock wheel size. : As far as brand goes, I think most of the really fast guys out there in BMW circles are using the Hoosiers. (FWIW, Bob Tunnell is running the g-force BFGs.. and he says they're faster.)

: I've not driven on the Hoosiers yet, but I hear from some drivers they're a)FAST and b)wear out even FASTER.

: In case you're wondering, I run Kumhos. They're cheap, good and wear well. 225/45 F and 255/40 R. Stock suspension, chip and UUC SS kit. (which puts me in SCCA ESP).. this setup is PLENTY of car for my intermediate skills. My local SCCA chapter sets up VERY tight courses, and this setup is enough to make my car very competative out there.
