Since you car is still running, you probably bent some valves. You will need to have the head removed to see exactly how much damage you did. Since your car is idling like crap, a leakdown test will just confirm the obvious.
Your looking at several thousand dollars no matter how much damage you did.
If the estimate is around $5,000 or over, look into a rebuild or used off Zion or any of the other vendors.
Many have mentioned that you may be on borrowed time. Something like a valve could break loose and cause significantly more damage. Flatbed the car to the dealer.
: Driving the 95 dakar yellow 2 slightly modified m3 on a gorgeos sunny day messing around on the freeway opening her up.Slowing down to60 mph just for the joy of downshifting to 2nd gear to 6700 rpm, shift to 3rd then 4th then, slow down again just to do it again and again .Now that was fun until a shift to 4th gear was missed and accidentally found 2nd!!! I was shifting from 3rd @ 6700 rpm ,I don't remember the exact speed but it was over 90 mph when this happened. I popped it out in a split second, then my heart sank. The car ran fine but I knew my baby was hurt. After exiting I knew for sure something happened.Gone was the smooth purr @ idle ,replaced w/ a shuddering motor under 2000 rpms above that it still rides rough. Can anyone tell me what could this be,a blown engine ? should I start looking for a new engine? or what?
