I have a detailed test between the stock
paper filter and K&N.. which lead me to
the ITG as an alternative.

The test between the K&N ITG etc was done
not by me, but by MIRA.. the British Motor
Industry Research Association.

I'm working on getting a copy (with permission
for reproduction) as we speak

I don't mean to start a filter controversey, these chip arguements are bad enough although it seems that the useful information is filtering though too.
: The other question is even more off topic. I'm considering a transmission swap to put a 5-speed into my 325i automatic. What kind of problems should I expect with the engine computer and the diagnostic systems when the transmission computer stops talking to them because its gone, if any (and there's always something right)?
