If you were at the race you would see the bimmer drivers light up brake lights/braking wayyy earlier for the corners than everyone else. That was a big factor as the TypeR's seemed to brake very late (better handling? I don't know?) Also the 328Ci was running it's first race so that was just a testing ground for them to see if it was durable...more speed/handling yet to come
And like everyone says those are euro M3 engines bumped up to 360hp with STOCK brakes.(In the GT class)
I did't see any Type R's in the BTCC but that is a whole different game from stock

I am watching Speed Vision's World Challenge #2 on Saturday night, and the Integra Type R's are dominating the E-36's while a E-46 built by TC-Kline is competitive. Then right after that, the BTCC comes on and 3 Ford Mondeos are handing an Accord and a Type R their asses to them. Wassup with that? Aren't Mondeos Contour SVT's? Does this mean a juiced up Contour can run with an ///M? Anyone know the rules differences on what you can do with the motors in BTCC that you can't do in the World Challenge? I also heard that the ///Ms running in the GT division in the World Challenge get to run with superchargers so that they are competitive with the Vipers and big-block Ford and GM cars. Is that true?
