No, otherwise the Euro M3 would be lots quicker. the only 'slight' difference is in 1st gear, where the 6sp tranny is ever so slighly shorter, I forgot the exact numbers..

>im guessing that the gearing would be like a 2.70 for stock tires.... but would have to check the calculator to be for sure.

No, he wishes though! then his first and second gears wouldn't be so useless...NEVER gets traction in 1st or 2nd..and he never drags people at slower speed than 35-40mph, where he's usually in like 3rd, and just loads it...

:sure my car would do 185 with taller gears, but :1/4 mile would suffer.
: 12.013 1/4mi on street tires

Probably, but his would love taller gears..with the engine/cam/clutch/flywheel/turbo setup he has, 1st gear and 2nd is non-existent at he doesn't floor it unless he's really low rpm of 2nd, or middle of 3rd..the Getrag is like essentially having an overdrive..honest to goodness I've experienced it hundreds of times..5th gear is pretty much like ours, and then boom, shift and just keeeeeeep on going when you're pushing 460-480 bhp. And it really goes in 6th too! CYA>PM3

: :: I thought our gearing only allowed a top speed of 160 at redline in 5th gear.

: : Getrag 6sp from European BMW M3 + the 460bhp = about 185mph
