Just about a month ago I removed the Stage 1 chip and replaced with a Stage 2 chip from Dinan. The Stage 2 chip includes something that Dinan calls a "shift kit" (not a physical kit- hard to describe). After I installed, I noticed that shifts between gears were MUCH more sudden, like slamming into gear in a manual. I like it. The lag during shifting has been minimized. The shift points are higher so I can pull a lot more rpms before hitting next gear. In a lot of situations I tend to leave the gear selector in 4th- to eliminate the unexpected shifting into 5th gear- and have been very happy with the ability to get well over 100mph while holding high rpms (so if I needed to pull hard to pass someone on the freeway I can do so without the chugging of 5th gear before downshifting to 4th).
Hope this helps.

: was just curious if anyone had purchased the chip, an dif it made a considerable difference.
: and no flames please, for those who travel 68 miles a day in all traffic, a 5spd is hell.
: thanks
