The problem your gonna have is that the factory kickpanel MIGHT not fit over the speaker once it's mounted (if the tweeter sticks out too far). I can't tell how far is too far, because I didn't measure this on my car (I had new panels built to house the component tweeter down there).

If you do end up going this route you can (and should) disconnect the factory mids and tweets in the door.

: Got to product jump list ring: Model RX67

: : Is that going to be a problem with the mid and tweeter already in the door? Or should I just pony up the cash and get a good 6.5 bass speaker. Any suggestions?

: : Thanks

: : : You will have to cut metal to fit the 6.5" down there, but I can't answer the rest until I know if they are Coax or Seperate??? If they are coax is the tweeter flush with the woofer edge or does it stick out???

: : : : Can I put boston acoustic RX67 or whatever 2 way 6.5 inch speakers in the kicker WITHOUT DOING ANYTHING ELSE? Will it sound funny with the mid a tweeter still in the door? AND I don't want to replace the factory head unit or CD changer. I mention this because I already have the BA speakers in my miata.

: : : : I'm just trying to get a bit more punch of bass and those 5.25 aren't doing a damn thing. I listened to a HK in a 98 and it sounds GREAT compared to mine.
