: signals must be amber or red, or is this just a figment of my imagination...?

I have those superwhite bulbs w/clear lenses all the way around....I live in california, bay area...I have been pulled over for having them. The officer said that they were legal in the front, but for the rear, the bulbs have to be red/orange color....I asked him why and he said when people see white light on the back end of the car, they'll think you're going to be backing up.
I don't see how anyone would think i'm going to be backing up while doing 80mph down 101 and want to make a lane change....

Anyhow, I didn't get a ticket and have never been pulled over since...this happened about a year ago, i've had the bulbs for just over a year now.

I say just go ahead and do it, even if it is illegal...most cops probably won't care...

Russ
