In Reply to: Trunk interior light on with hood up... posted by JC///M3 on June 13, 2000 at 22:55:01:

Leaving the hood up (for any reason) not knowing the trunk light is on could drain a battery down unknowingly. I had no idea this happened but it's good to know. Thanks.

: I recently discovered that the trunk interior light comes on when the engine hood is open. This happens even with the trunk and doors closed. I found this out one evening when I entered my darkened garage to get something and noticed a light in the trunk through the front windshield. Earlier that day I was tweaking my stereo amps and had left the rear backseat folded forward and the engine hood open. The hood switch and trunk light are probably tied together in the security system. I used to leave the hood up overnight but now I know better. The hood - another energy consuming component.
