an "extended" wait for people who are not currently on waiting lists...the explainations went something like this...your slot comes up at BMW, they build the car to your specs, ship it and then move onto the next car...first come first serve, building about two cars a month for the dealer...then, when the slots are done - the rest of us can get one...I don't know how true this is, but I had a sales guy at BMW Gallery, Norwood and the VP of Operations at Foreign Motors, Natick, tell me the same thing...BMW Gallery had a waiting listing 24 deep - if they do in fact build two a month...thats a year out for the rest of us...
