Jim C Shark Software and Dinan Software both edit Fuel maps to gain more horsepower. I hear for the most part it's leaning out the fuel mixture at set rate at different points in RPM. Probably more to it but that the main change. Jim C simply does this more aggessivly yielding more horsepower. Given the large following and damn near zero posts with actual software problems I would say he a safe bet. Dinan is more conservative so they don't get as much horsepower. However there software is emissions legel even in California. I'm not sure Jim C software is or not. I think the hype behind the shark injector is because you CAN reload your old software when you go back to the dealer or for an emissions test.
I have Dinan software Stage 2 and am Happy with it as I am with my CAI and Exhaust from Dinan. However, knowing that Jim C software yields more power and the shark injector lets me reload the old software in the computer, I would pick it. My Main reason for going with Dinan was warranty issues regarding my '99. However, with the shark injector I could reload the software before going back to the dealer and avoiding any hassles they might surface from trying to blame the performance software.
Once again, this is what I've gathered from reading MANY messages. The best bet is get first hand knowledge but I figured my comments would at least spark some conversation.
: What's the difference between the shark injector and the dinan software stages 1 thru 5.I currently have stage 2, will the shark injector give me anymore gains?
