You asked about performance and price so I guess you've done the research and know a little about the 8.2 and 8.3 sub enclosures. I'd gone through many sub box configurations before settling on the 8.2's. This box (not boxed shaped) is efficient, lightweight at 20lbs, and easy to mount or remove once the mounting brackets are installed. I had a pair of 10's in a single box with 2 separate sealed chambers (0.7cf) and the 8.2's, because it's a ported box, have the same or even more bass impact. And that sealed box was heavy! I use a subwoofer processor with a subsonic filter set at 30hz and the low pass filter (-24db/oct) and high pass filter (-12db/oct) both set at 80hz. The JL's are rated at 200 wrms and that's what my amp is spec'ed at but hardly ever maxed. I have a remote bass level knob and it's usually set at about 6 for most music and turned down to about 4 whenever any bassrich tune comes on.

So, what does it sound like? Well, know that to get the full impact of a good subwoofer, the front main speakers and music recording contribute to the overall tonal quality of the system. I have a good set of kickpanel speakers (disconnected the door set) and with the subwoofer blended in, the bass is full, tight, and musical. I paid $277 at a local shop in Northern Cali.

: And how much and where did you purchase them?
: Thanks
