Where exactly is it leaking or can you tell? I'm guessing you must have a crack in it, maybe a split or stressed fitting hole?

What year is the car? No doubt out of warranty!

I guess if the filter housing itself is in the $250 to $300 range, $600 would be about right if it includes a day's labor to replace it.

I still don't understand why or where it's leaking.

: my dealer wants about 600 to replace the oil filter housing since it is leaking oil. is this really hard to do? i do not understand why the bentley manual says that in order to do this, the engine must be supported over head, and the oil pan must be removed, which requires removal of the whole exhaust system!?!?
: what the hell? this car is getting too expensive. ;-(
